The fall brings all kinds of adventures. I’ll be flying between Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Montréal, New York, Iceland and France in the next 3 months. January 27th: Grandma Lo-fi’s international premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam.
Grandma Lo-fi -The Basement Tapes of Sigríður Nielsdottir, a film directed by Kristin Björk Kristjansdottir, Orri Jonsson & Ingibjörg Birgisdottir was premiered last weekend at the Copenhagen DOX Festival and won the Sound and Vision award.

CUTTHROAT ROUNDABOUT by Kira Kira
This track just came out on the lovely Tea First Records from Portland, Maine. It’s an early version of the piece which appeared in an epic contemporary dance creation by Ina Christel Johannsen called Ambra -Performed by 30 dancers of the Iceland Dance Company, the Norwegian Carte Blanche and cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir.
This beautiful compilation came out yesterday. A new Kira Kira song is nested in there snug with amazing music from artists like Sylvain Chauveau, Hauschka, F.S. Blumm, Isan, Peter Broderick, Wechsel Garland and many more. On my song, Leave a Light On, I am joined by musicians Borgar Magnason, Eiríkur Orri, Heikki Nikula, Pekka Kuusisto & Samuli Kosminen.

Bless screened at the International Trickfilm Festival in Stuttgart
Overture’s animation for Bless continues to charm the universe. It has been selected by the International Trickfilm Festival in Stuttgart to be screened in the animated music videos sections on May 5th at Metropol 1. Hurray to that!
Kira Kira is going to mix her third album on the island of Suomenlinna in Finland with Samuli Kosminen in his studio Ulappa at the end of March.
